Text Box: Dear Parents,
Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year! We are very excited to begin anew. It is so refreshing and invigorating to see the
children in their classrooms each day. They are happy, enthusiastic and eager to learn.
It was a pleasure to see so many of you at our Back to School Nights. Welcome again to all of our new families. At Back to School Night, I shared information about
some new endeavors for this school year. Once again we are the recipients of funding through a Maryland State Department of Education Grant. As part of this grant, we will be providing professional development opportunities for our staff, as well as
useful and informative Parent Workshops:
October: “How To Say No To Your Child”
January: “Work/ Life Balance”
March: “Developing a Will”
May: “Sibling Rivalry”

Watch for specific dates and times. Babysitting will be provided.
This year we are not only excited about our curriculum, but also about our
expanded menu of enrichment programs. There are several fun and educational
activities to choose from. More information will be distributed very soon!
The tzedakah money that is given by our children during the first half of the school year will be donated to the Johns Hopkins Children’s Cancer Research Fund in honor of Harry Goldstein. Harry was diagnosed
with Leukemia last year when he was in our four year program. In January, a representative from Johns Hopkins will Text Box: come to Bet Yeladim to meet with the children and
receive the money that we have collected.

dismissals, delayed openings, and school
closings due to inclement weather and other potential emergencies.
Also, please join us for our family holiday celebrations: the Sukkot Picnic, Havdalah Service, Hanukah Party, Tu B’Shevat Seder and Passover Workshop.
In the book, All That Matters, a grandmother lovingly shares with her grand-daughter ways to discover the “gifts” or special moments that occur each and every day, that can turn a seemingly dark day into an exhilarating one. As I prepare for Rosh
Hashanah and think about what makes me smile each day, I look at the faces of my own children and grandchildren, and also those of my Bet Yeladim family. Thank you for sharing your most precious gifts with us, your children.
L’Shana Tova! A sweet, peaceful New Year to your entire family!
